Evaluation of the program

In gauging the indicators of success or need for improvement in achieving their goals, teens who participate in these leadership opportunities evaluate themselves in tandem with library staff on program attendance, their ability to design effective programs and see them through, and which new skills they attained through the experiences.

LIBRARIAN FEEDBACK BOOTH

Our teen mentor who led the cultural celebration had about sixty participants at her program, and she reported increased confidence in her ability to plan events and programs, as well as increased confidence in using teleworking tools such as the Office 365 suite, Teams, and OneNote. She wants to become an immigration attorney, and after she did the program we connected her to a mentor—a black female judge who started her career as an immigration attorney. Our teen mentor found a mentor of her own who looked like her and had a similar immigrant experience that led her to law. It was pretty magical.
